The\u00a0Dr<\/a>agon\u2019s Apprentice Challenge<\/a>\u00a0Team Elite from St Albans Girls\u2019 School STAGS\u00a0(the team the Club is Dragon to), have got their fundraising off to a great start\"Print\"<\/a>\u00a0for\u00a0Rennie <\/a>Grove Hospice\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0raising nearly \u00a3250 already. They held a fashion show, and also sold amusingly packaged sweets at the school Christmas Fair. Scroll through the images in the slideshow below and you will see two of the girls modelling, plus a brave teacher Mrs Glanvill and Soroptimist Dragon Jane Slatter – and some sample packets of sweets.<\/p>\n

In November, Team Elite from the St Albans\u00a0Dragons<\/a>\u2018 Apprentice <\/a>C<\/a>\"56<\/a>hallenge<\/a>\u00a0were awarded an invitation to the launch of \u00a0Fair Life Charity<\/a>\u00a0in Portcullis House Westminster with a visit to Parliament \u2013 with Soroptimist \u201cDragon\u201d Jennie Redford (pictured centre).\u00a0Dragons Apprentice Challenge were awarded a certificate for their work with students in local schools.\u00a0 The other team there was from Oaklands College. The Fairlife Charity raises standards in finance with a fair trading mark and promotes financial education in schools starting as early as Junior school. The\u00a0guide made the visit great fun and was very good on the part about the Suffragettes \u2013 making a point of talking to Team Elite about them.<\/p>\n

St Albans Soroptimists Jennie Redford and Jane Slatter are being \u201cDragons\u201d to our Apprentices \u201cTeam Elite\u201d from St Albans Girls\u2019 School (STAGS) in the St Albans \u201cDragon\u2019s Apprentice Challenge\u201d \u2013 the challenge is for them to raise \u00a31000 for the charity they\u2019ve been partnered with \u2013 which is Rennie Grove Hospice<\/a> \u2013 please see the Club News item:\u00a0www.sigbi.org\/st-albans\/2016\/dragon\/<\/a><\/p>\n

Soroptimist International St Albans and District \u2013\u00a0<\/strong>Women Serving the St Albans Com\"Soroptimistsmunity Since 1957<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Club will celebrate its Diamond Anniversary in April 2017, and this project is a \u201c60 for 60\u2033 production\u2026\u2026..<\/a><\/p>\n
