Jane was asked to speak as Director of Communications for Soroptimist International Great Britain and Ireland &#8211; a voluntary post she held for 6 years with her term of office ending in November 2016.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/st-albans-and-district\/files\/73-Verulam-School-6th-form-Jane-Slatter.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-3775 size-medium\" src=\"\/st-albans-and-district\/files\/73-Verulam-School-6th-form-Jane-Slatter-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"73-Verulam School 6th form Jane Slatter\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/st-albans-and-district\/files\/73-Verulam-School-6th-form-Jane-Slatter-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/st-albans-and-district\/files\/73-Verulam-School-6th-form-Jane-Slatter-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/st-albans-and-district\/files\/73-Verulam-School-6th-form-Jane-Slatter.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The pupils and staff including the Headmaster of the school Paul Ramsey made Jane feel very welcome on the day. Verulam school is a boys&#8217; school until 6th form when girls&#8217; are encouraged to apply to the school to study their A Levels.
