Emma is pictured here in the centre with Jennie Redford (l) and Jane Slatter (r).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/st-albans-and-district\/files\/136-Dragons-Apprentice-Jennie-Emma-Jane.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-4275\" src=\"\/st-albans-and-district\/files\/136-Dragons-Apprentice-Jennie-Emma-Jane-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"136-Dragons Apprentice Jennie Emma Jane\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/st-albans-and-district\/files\/136-Dragons-Apprentice-Jennie-Emma-Jane-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/st-albans-and-district\/files\/136-Dragons-Apprentice-Jennie-Emma-Jane-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/st-albans-and-district\/files\/136-Dragons-Apprentice-Jennie-Emma-Jane.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Emma gave Club Members a very informative presentation \u00a0which can be downloaded as a PDF here:\u00a0<a href=\"\/st-albans-and-district\/files\/Dragons-Apprentice-Presentation-Soroptimists-July-2017.pdf\">Dragons Apprentice Presentation Soroptimists July 2017<\/a>\u00a0Emma explained how the <a href=\"http:\/\/dragonsapprenticechallenge.com\/\"><strong>Dragons&#8217; Apprentice Challenge<\/strong><\/a> started and how it has grown and developed including the new &#8220;Junior Apprentice Challenge&#8221; for Primary Schools launched last year. The Club has applied again for 2017\/18 and will find out later this year if their application has been successful.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/dragonsapprenticechallenge.com\/\"><strong>The Dragons&#8217; Apprentice Challenge<\/strong><\/a> is run by CVS with the aim to <strong>&#8220;Bring education, business and not for profit together to develop young minds&#8221;<\/strong>. This fits well with the Soroptimist mission to &#8220;Educate, Empower and Enable&#8221; women and girls. Schools put forward teams of 16\/17 year olds to be matched with a charity to raise funds for, and a dragon to support and inspire the team. In 2016\/17 Jennie and Jane were &#8220;dragons&#8221; to &#8220;Team Elite&#8221; from St Albans Girls&#8217; School. Team Elite from Year 12 at STAGS raised a brilliant \u00a3848.75 for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.renniegrove.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Rennie\u00a0<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.renniegrove.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Grove Hospice\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0in spite of loads of setbacks!
