We were delighted that Cathy Freeman from <strong>Herts Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Centre\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hertsrapecrisis.org.uk\/\">www.hertsrapecrisis.org.uk<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>was able to join us so we could officially &#8220;handover&#8221; the \u00a31000 we raised for the charity over the last year. Cathy said &#8220;That&#8217;s wonderful &#8211; thankyou so much! I can&#8217;t tell you how much it&#8217;s appreciated. In Lockdown we have had to buy 6 laptops! The women will be grateful too.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Fundraising for the \u00a31000 included singing Christmas carols at St Albans Station, coffee mornings at Wesley Cafe in Harpenden and a Health Event on Zoom <a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/st-albans-and-district\/2020\/breathe\/\">www.sigbi.org\/st-albans-and-district\/2020\/breathe<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Cathy gave us an update on what&#8217;s been happening to the charity during COVID-19.\u00a0 Counselling has been carried out online, the volume of referrals for counselling have been about the same as before the pandemic and they have a long waiting list.
