\"\"<\/a>Shake Rattle and Sing! Soroptimist local women\u2019s group<\/strong> with friends (including some members of local choirs), sang festive songs at St Albans City Station raising a much needed \u00a3261 for \u00a0SAHWR Women\u2019s Refuge<\/a><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Singers were wearing orange to continue with our campaign to\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span>#OrangetheWorldHerts<\/strong><\/span> ! https:\/\/sigbi.org\/st-albans-and-district\/2023\/orange23\/<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

One commuter who stopped to made a donation said “you’re too good to walk through!” \"\"<\/a>– praise indeed. Soroptimist Jane Slatter said “we all had a great time – donations were less than last year, but that’s not really surprising with the financial situation and rail strikes too!”<\/p>\n

\"St<\/a>Funding cuts and increased demand mean that Refuges really need money from our fundraising so we were grateful to everyone who donated on the night.\u00a0 If anyone wants to make a donation after the event please email us at sistalbans@hotmail.com\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

This event is timed on the closest Monday to Human Rights Day when Soroptimists all around the world take action and is part of the\u00a0\u201cOrange the World Campaign\u201d<\/span> \u2013 16 Days of Activism from 25 Nov to 10 Dec to end gender-based violence.<\/strong><\/p>\n
