Heather joined S.I. Stafford in 1992 having met other members who served with her on the Management Committee of Wilford House, a residential home for the elderly in Stafford which is still supported by the Club.
She served as Club secretary for 5 years and was privileged to be Club President in the 60th year. Following this Heather has served on the Club Executive Committee and on the Midland Chase Regional Council as Press and Publicity Officer. She became Regional President in 1998 – 99 which involved organising a two day conference in Stafford that focussed on homelessness and on education.
Heather’s aim for her second term as President is to work with members to ensure that each can have a role in reaching our aim to improve the lives of women and girls nationally and Internationally – and have some fun along the way. Fund raising is an important part of this and events such as a Walking Quiz, Cabaret Night and Murder Mystery Evening are planned.
The money raised this year will go to “Mary’s Meals” feeding children in schools in Africa and parts of Eastern Europe and to the local Stafford Motor Neurone Support Group.
Heather has worked as an Estate Agent in the local area since 1987 and has run her own business in Penkridge since 2003.
