Saltburn Stroll

Fish and chip supper Before our summer holidays President Joyce decided we needed some exercise. With the promise of fish and chips at the end, the members of SI Stockton on Tees set off on a lovely evening stroll in Saltburn along the beach under Huntcliff. Alas the tide wasn’t paying attention to the Soroptimists and decided it was time to turn and roll in but we were not defeated and headed back to the promenade and sauntered down the pier so the waves couldn’t get us! Two intrepid walkers even climbed to the top of the cliff path. A Soroptimist member had kindly offered her home for the post walk fish and chips which were excellent and well deserved after the exercise!! The evening was rounded off with a sing song (sea shanties of course) and everyone went home fitter (??) and refreshed.

A Musical Evening in Aid of BlindVoice UK. Soroptimist International of Stockton on Tees held a delightful musical evening in Yarm on 10th March 2009. The event was held to raise money for President Joyce Chesney’s chosen charity BlindVoice UK, a Stockton based Charity. Those who attended were entertained by a classical guitarist and music sound systems. Members from Blind Voice UK kindly joined us for the evening. The event raised £500.00.
