As a Club we work within the Programme Areas agreed at International level.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Violence against Women \u2013 Stop it now<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We continually work to support a local refuge for mothers and children escaping domestic violence.<\/p>\n

We host a monthly lunch and hold both a summer outing where the children enjoy a \u00a0day in the country, enjoying the open air and doing such things as picking fruit and paddling in a stream and a New year Party where we provide entertainment for the children.\u00a0 Throughout the year we also provide numerous items for use as the families move into new homes.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Health<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Members have for the past few years supported the community by providing monthly donations to a local Food Bank in Sutton Coldfield.<\/p>\n

This year members enjoyed friendship and fun at a coffee morning at the home of one of our members and the \u00a3565.55 raised was donated to the Cancer Support Centre in Lindridge Road, Sutton Coldfield<\/p>\n

Members continue to raise funds our Benevolent Fund which supports our members within our Federation at times of financial need.<\/p>\n

Coronavirus<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Members were delighted to be able to help front-line NHS staff during the recent Coronavirus pandemic by utilising our craft skills in sewing Scrub Bags and knitting hearts which along with such from other Clubs were donated to the Nightingale Hospital in Birmingham.<\/p>\n

Turning Sutton Coldfield Orange<\/h3>\n

The Town Hall was bathed in an orange light as part of the UN 16 days of activism of action against violence to women and girls. Inside the Town Hall is an area with posters , leaflets and a mannequin dressed in orange explaining the significance of the 16 days. Rosemary designed the literature thus ensuring\u00a0 that the key messages of the 16 days were clear.<\/p>\n
