President Angela 2022

2022 sets many challenges after 89 years since the Swansea Soroptimists were formed in 1933

President Angela’s theme until April 2023 is “Reflect, Recruit and Retain” whilst still having fun at our events. The first Quiz event in June raised over £500 of which £300 will go to supporting Ukraine.

Quiz Night 2022

Swansea’s Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress, our guests

The event was an opportunity to present 2 Toilet Twinning plaques to the vicar of St Paul’s Church, Sketty for the Parish Centre

Our next event is an Open Evening on Thursday, 8th September in Sketty Parish Centre at 7pm. There will be an opportunity to hear from a student who we financially assisted in her 10 months learning in Los Angeles recently and hear about Soroptimist International in Swansea. There will be refreshments. Free tickets are available by enquiring through the Contact Us page of the website

We will reflect on all the successes since Swansea Soroptimists were formed as the first club in Wales in 1933 and look to recruit new active members of club. We will continue to encourage and support young women and girls to reach their potential

Members of SI Swansea continue to follow the aims and objectives of Soroptimist International of Great Britain and Ireland after lock down.

SI Swansea is a vibrant, dynamic organisation for all women who support the aims of the organisation Soroptimist International and welcome new members. These are to Educate, Empower and Enable women and girls. In April 2020 we had 19 members but we need more active members. We welcome new members. Soroptimists are  women joining together to influence decision making and improve the lives of women and girls through action.

We want to help women and girls reach their potential, realise their ambitions and have an equal voice in creating strong and peaceful communities.

Would you like to make a difference to the lives of women and girls?
