Soroptimist International of Swindon and District held a Golden Anniversary Luncheon to celebrate 50 years as a club on Sunday 10th October at The Cricklade Hotel and Country Club .
The Welcome to Guests was given by Swindon President Valerie Nuttall. Founder member, Jeanne Perons, read the Soroptimist Pledge, and Grace was said by Regional President South West and Channel Islands, Wendy Plaice.
Following the delicious roast beef main course, the birthday cake was ceremonially cut and candles were lit for The United Nations, SIGBI,SI Swindon and District and the Club’s Friendship Links with Nigeria and USA.
The Mayor of Swindon, Cllr Rex Barnett, proposed the toast to Soroptimist International and Jackie Mosedale, President of Soroptimist International of Great Britain and Ireland, responded.
