\nThe UNiTE campaign<\/a> has proclaimed the 25th of each month as \u201cOrange Day\u201d, a day to raise awareness and take action to end violence against women and girls. As a bright and optimistic colour, orange represents a future free from violence against women and girls.<\/em><\/p>\n

Orange Day calls upon activists, governments, and UN partners to mobilize people and highlight issues relevant to preventing and ending violence against women and girls, not only once a year on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, but every month.<\/em><\/p>\n

On the 25th day of every month, UNiTE mobilizes people around the world to support the #OrangeDay initiative. It calls on people everywhere to wear the colour orange and take action to end violence against women and girls in communities, at home, in public spaces, in schools and workplaces, during conflict and in times of peace.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\t<\/div>\n\n\t

Here in Swindon, Swindon Soroptimists had a get-together on the morning of the 25th for the month’s Orange Day.<\/p>\n

\u00a0It was a pleasure to have a chance to talk to members of the public about Orange Day and what we do at the club. <\/span>We had some great chats with some lovely women who were intrigued by our orange clothing, and interested to hear about the Soroptimists.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Jack’s Caf\u00e9,<\/a> both for the first-rate breakfasts and also for allowing us to take their prime table!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
