{"id":5041,"date":"2025-07-05T12:20:32","date_gmt":"2025-07-05T11:20:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/tamworth\/?p=5041"},"modified":"2025-07-05T12:26:37","modified_gmt":"2025-07-05T11:26:37","slug":"77th-charter-lunch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/tamworth\/2025\/07\/05\/77th-charter-lunch\/","title":{"rendered":"77th Charter Lunch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Soroptimist International Tamworth members recently celebrated their 77th Charter Lunch and cheque presentation at Drayton Manor Hotel. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Club President Gill Holmes, and club members welcomed the Mayor of Tamworth, Councillor Chris Bain, and guests and friends from other local Soroptimist International Clubs and local charities.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5042\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5042\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/tamworth\/files\/2025\/07\/Past-President-Ally-Mayor-of-Tamworth-Councillor-Chris-Bain-and-President-Gill.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5042 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/tamworth\/files\/2025\/07\/Past-President-Ally-Mayor-of-Tamworth-Councillor-Chris-Bain-and-President-Gill-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5042\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Past President Ally, Mayor of Tamworth Councillor Chris Bain and President Gill<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">The event also provided an opportunity for SI Tamworth to distribute cheques to the local charities that they have raised money for this past year. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5043\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5043\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/tamworth\/files\/2025\/07\/Past-President-Ally-presenting-the-cheque-to-Caroline-from-SARAC.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5043 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/tamworth\/files\/2025\/07\/Past-President-Ally-presenting-the-cheque-to-Caroline-from-SARAC-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5043\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Past President Ally presenting a donation to Caroline from SARAC<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Former President Ally Allerson presented cheques to the <a href=\"https:\/\/sarac.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sexual Abuse Rape Advice Centre,<\/a> which is the president\u2019s charity, and also other local charities: the Heart of Tamworth Community Project; Read Easy, St. Giles Hospice, Tamworth Have a Heart and the Soroptimist International Foundation.
