Joint President Jane Fitzgerald and Swimathon Co-ordinator, Christine Briggs, welcomed all winning team members and friends and charity representatives. Christine announced the total raised this year was \u00a316,463.68 and over its 29 year history the grand total raised by the Swimathon is \u00a3610,895.02!<\/p>\n<p>This year there were\u00a055 teams,\u00a0315 swimmers\u00a0and 2,955\u00a0laps (92 miles!) swum.<\/p>\n<p>Taunton Deane MP, Rebecca Pow, presented the trophies to members of the winning teams and presented\u00a0a cheque for \u00a34,115.92 to each of the charity representatives.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Alan Collins from\u00a0Apple FM Community Radio<\/li>\n<li>Paula Sudbury from Stand Against Violence<\/li>\n<li>Rosie Hather from Taunton Association for the Homeless<\/li>\n<li>Viv Duncan from Taunton Mother &amp; Baby
