May 2018 – visit to Cliveden

Our May meeting was an afternoon visit to the grounds of Cliveden.

We enjoyed a leisurely stroll in brilliant sunshine thorough the Long Garden, led by one of our members who volunteers in the grounds.

Our next destination was the National Trust exhibition of Inspirational Women in the local community, which features our member Rose Simbo of the Kori Development Project.   As we were leaving the exhibition, a helpful policeman took our group photo.   There was a police presence, as our visit was just a few days before Ms Markel stayed at the hotel prior to her wedding in Windsor.

After enjoying the sunshine on the terrace and inspecting a piece of modern sculpture, we retired to the cafe for tea.   A very enjoyable outing, blessed by good weather and good company.
