Covid got us zooming into action in more ways than one. Our key workers in the club have kept working looking after the health and education of Shropshire. Dr Jess took to social media to tell us all to Stay at Home <\/b>along with a lot of sound advice both on radio and tv.<\/span><\/div>\n

Those of us at home have made he\"\"<\/a>arts for dementia patients, so they feel loved and not forgotten, and the seamstresses among us have made masks and scrub bags for key workers. We have shopped for shielding people and telephoned the loneley.\"\"<\/a><\/span><\/div>\n

Shropshire radio came to our aid so we could get out the message of free travel for women suffering, or at risk ,from domestic violence \u00a0and we were also able to get the message out there to phone a friend you may have lost touch with, to check they were ok, you never know who may have lost touch due to a coersive controlling relationship.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\nhttps:\/\/sigbi.org\/thewrekin\/files\/2020\/07\/AUDIO-2020-05-21-08-15-52.m4a<\/a><\/audio>\n<\/div>\n

Business meetings have gone on in zoom, along with book club and online coffee mornings. WhatsApp has enabled us to have a laugh or two sharing tweets,Youtube videos and cartoons of life in lock down.<\/span><\/div>\n
Our frienship link with Stoubridge has enabled us to partake in their bookclub meeting and quizz and we even had a balloon race. Who would have thought we could have a balloon race during lockdown? Courtesy of the Red Cross virtual balloon race we raced across the Channel to Amsterdam and Germany while others sped up over Iceland. The event raise funds for the Red Cross CoVid fund, and gave us hours of entertainment over the week it was held<\/span><\/div>\n
We have projects in the pipeline and will not be held back by CoVid and will continue to aid women both at home and abroad. Fellowship through the club has helped us to support each other during difficult times. It is good to stay connected. <\/span><\/div>\n
