Take part in collections for the annual Poppy Appeal we collect outside of Marks and Spencers in Tiverton and our President of the month lays a wreath and joins in the march around the town. Some members help with the Singing to Remember group each week by making cakes or attending the group. We give food and household items to CHAT in Tiverton every month, which helps the homeless and those in need in our local area. We support Sustainable Tiverton and have joined in with their tree planting campaign as well as the SIGBI plant a tree campaign
In the coming months our members will take part in the following: –
November 1st to 3rd Daphne Dowsing our voting Delegate will attend the SIGBI Conference to represent our club. She will also the attend SI Bixhams Charter Dinner on the 11th of November. President for November Jenny Evans will lay a Soroptimist wreath in Tiverton on behalf of our Soroptimist International Tiverton and District club. COMPLETED
November 8th has been a Zoom meeting with a speaker Mary Gray from Children’s Hospice South West COMPLETED
December 13th will be our annual Christmas lunch at the Tiverton Golf Club with friends family and our supporters and a speaker Meg Gale who will bring along some of her hand made Christmas items for us to purchase {CASH ONLY PLEASE} for charity COMPLETED
January 10th 2024 will be a Zoom meeting and an evening of reflection and planning COMPLETED
January 25th we plan to hold an Orange Cafe in Tiverton details to follow we will wear orange in support of Stop Violence Against Women. Open event to encourage new members COMPLETED
February 7th will be a Zoom meeting with SI Taunton with a speaker from Mary’s Meals COMPLETED
March 6th Planning meeting for the 60th Anniversary of our club Charter at the Tiverton Golf Club 10.30 am COMPLETED
March 21st Trip to National Trust Property at Killerton House for our Orange Cafe meet at the cafe at 10.30 am COMPLETED
March 27th will be a face-to-face meeting at the Tiverton Golf Club with a Speaker from Pilgrims Opticians COMPLETED
April 17th will be our AGM at the Tiverton Golf Club
May 22nd club meeting at Tiverton Golf Club to give our donations to our chosen charities
On June 8th 2024, we will be celebrating 60 years as a Soroptimist Club in Tiverton and District and we plan a celebration lunch at Tiverton Golf Club with a Celebration Cake and a visit from Jackie Collins the Soroptimist Regional President South West and Channel Islands
June 27th Orange Cafe and garden, visit to a National Gardens Scheme Garden near Kenn Exeter
31st July a meeting at the Golf club with a speaker from the Medical Detection Dogs charity
August there is no meeting held
25th September club meeting at Tiverton Golf Club
September we hope to have a social event in the local area
23rd October we hope to have a meeting at the Tiverton Golf Club with a speaker.
Having had a successful Beetle Drive which we plan to be held in October
27th November we will return to a Zoom meeting.
