One of the major highlights of the campaign was the launch of a Children’s Graphic Book entitled “HPV Heroes, Defenders of the Future” at NALIS on the 21st January. The book has a colourful and attractive design in a comic structure, simple language, informative and fun for children to read and understand the importance of the HPV Vaccine. The target age group for the vaccine is 9 to 26 years old.

It was also a very opportune time for launching the book as it also coincides with the United Nations International Education Day, 24th January. We see education on the importance of the HPV vaccine as a preventative measure and life saver from Cervical Cancer and other types of cancers as the key to achieving an uptake in the HPC Vaccination rate which currently is very low for Trinidad and Tobago.

SITT made a presentation of 60 books to NALIS for their 28 libraries. The presentation was made to Ms. Beverly Williams, Deputy Executive Director of NALIS. Other presentations of the books were made including Soroptimists Presidents/Representatives on behalf of their clubs.

5 little “HPV Heroes” were incorporated into the launch to read excerpts from the Book and received a loud applause for a job well done as well as a presentation of the book and an HPV Hero Water Bottle.

For the Social Media campaign, we have very attractive and informative visuals posted daily on Facebook, X (formerly twitter), Instagram, Whatsapp Groups and also on the website. We are also using traditional media platforms – Newspaper and Radio Ads, Articles, Interviews on TV, Radio and Newspapers. A multifaceted approach is being used to reach a very wide and diversified audience efficiently.

We sincerely thank NALIS for the use of the Pamela Benson Audio Visual Room for the Book launch; our sponsors, RBC Royal Bank Limited, Republic Bank Limited, PVF Limited, Victoria Laboratories and also contributions from Soroptimists clubs in T&T for their kind support which was greatly appreciated and will certainly assist us in our education drive and vaccination advocacy to end Cervical Cancer.

Let’s Be HPV Heroes, End Cervical Cancer, Get Vaccinated.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”sky” style=”shadow” border_width=”9″][vc_single_image image=”6904″ img_size=”full”][vc_separator color=”sky” style=”shadow” border_width=”9″][vc_single_image image=”6890″ img_size=”full”][vc_separator color=”sky” style=”shadow” border_width=”9″][vc_single_image image=”6877″ img_size=”full”][vc_column_text]

Cervical Cancer Awareness Month

As we launch our “Let’s Be HPV Heroes” campaign this January, we invite you to join us in the in the fight against cervical cancer.
