The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) 65
is scheduled to take place 15-26 March 2021 in New York. For the first time this will be a virtual event.
The sixty-fifth session of the Commission on the Status of Women will take place from 15 to 26 March 2021. In light of the evolving COVID-19 situation, and taking into account the latest guidance from the United Nations Secretary-General and the World Health Organization (WHO), CSW65 will take place in a hybrid format with mostly virtual meetings.
Representatives of Member States, UN entities, and ECOSOC-accredited non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from all regions of the world are invited to attend the session.
Please be reminded that if you want to register for CSW 65 (and receive updates) then you need to do so by the Indico website by 22 February 2021.
Main theme: ‘Women’s full and effective participation and decision-making in public life, as well as the elimination of violence for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls’.
Review theme: ‘Women’s empowerment and the link to sustainable development (agreed conclusions of the sixtieth session)’.
Last year’s CSW 64 was cancelled In the light of concerns regarding the COVID 19 pandemic. As the pandemic continues across the world CSW 65 is scheduled to take place for the first time on a virtual platform. This will include the
general discussion, ministerial round tables, interactive events and all side and parallel events. The exception will be two in-person meetings (opening and closing sessions) which will take place with the participation of New York-based
delegates. All registered representatives will be able to follow the proceedings via live webcast which will provide interpretation in official UN languages.

For the virtual event, unlimited numbers can watch the sessions, so there is no restriction, and registration is not necessary. If you want
