Soroptimists aim to Educate, Empower and provide Enabling opportunities for women and girls: including ourselves. But part of being a Soroptimist is friendship and fun. We need to raise money for our charities: so why not have fun whilst raising those much needed funds?
Celebrating Chinese New Year
Having fun often goes with enjoying food. Although a few days early, Club members and friends celebrated Chinese new year in January with a Chinese style meal at our meeting venue: the Hollins Hey Hotel. Following the meal we had a Chinese auction raising funds for our charities.

Members who enjoy knitting, crochet or sewing meet on a regular basis to share skills and ideas, and enjoy each others comany. Items sold boost the Club’s charity funds. Items vary from small woolen toys such as teddies, bunnies and owls; to larger fabric items such as peg bags, and aprons for adults and children. Easter time sees the production of chicks stuffed with a creme egg while for Christmas items include tree decorations and father Christmas ornaments.
