HISTORY OF OUR CLUB
WALSALL CLUB WAS CHARTERED IN 1940. The founder President was Miss Mollie Orgill. We are a small but very active and committed club . Originally Soroptimists consisted of women in the professions and business. Over the years the organisation has evolved, for example in Walsall Club members come from all areas and all levels of economic activity.
We meet twice a month, on the 1st Wednesday of the month for dinner with a speaker and the 3rd Wednesday of the month for business.
We are a service organisation, committed to helping local, national and international communities. We do this through our community projects, campaigning work and fund-raising. In addition we have a full calendar of social activities, including links with other clubs. Our club is based around working together as a team to promote the aims and objectives of Soroptimism and whilst doing so enjoying the friendship and the fun of our fellow members and Soroptimists from around the world.
