{"id":701,"date":"2016-11-29T17:24:50","date_gmt":"2016-11-29T16:24:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/weston-super-mare\/?p=701"},"modified":"2016-11-29T17:25:24","modified_gmt":"2016-11-29T16:25:24","slug":"railing-against-abuse-on-25-th-november-for-the-elimination-of-violence-against-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/weston-super-mare\/2016\/11\/29\/railing-against-abuse-on-25-th-november-for-the-elimination-of-violence-against-women\/","title":{"rendered":"Railing against Abuse on 25th November , for the Elimination of Violence against Women."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Consolas;font-size: medium\">On November 25th, UN Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, Soroptimists from Weston-super-Mare travelled by train from Taunton to Bristol Temple Meads and were joined at the station by Soroptimists from Barnstaple, Bath, Bridgwater, Bristol, Cirencester, Tiverton and Yeovil &amp; Sherborne.<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Consolas;font-size: medium\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Consolas;font-size: medium\">Over 40 women then marched to the Lord Mayor&#8217;s Chapel opposite College Green where they were addressed by Lucy Lord of Women&#8217;s Aid which mans the Domestic Abuse helpline and Tara Newley Arkle who read a moving poem she had written about experiencing abuse.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Consolas;font-size: medium\">\u00a0<a href=\"\/weston-super-mare\/files\/2016\/11\/Railing-against-Abuse-2016.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-702\" src=\"\/weston-super-mare\/files\/2016\/11\/Railing-against-Abuse-2016-212x300.jpg\" alt=\"Railing against Abuse 2016\" width=\"212\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/weston-super-mare\/files\/2016\/11\/Railing-against-Abuse-2016-212x300.jpg 212w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/weston-super-mare\/files\/2016\/11\/Railing-against-Abuse-2016.jpg 724w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 212px) 100vw, 212px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;font-family: Consolas;font-size: medium\">During the train journey and the march &#8220;Loves me, &#8220;Loves me not&#8221; bookmarks were distributed to the public to highlight good and bad relationships.
