The Soroptimist 2022 – 2023 year finishes with our 45th AGM on April 20th.<\/span> Members do look out for the Officer Reports and Agenda in your Inbox this week. We have Jean’s Induction and a Tribute to dear Marion please join in at The Fairmile. <\/span>Summary to reflect on SIW&D Club Achievements in 2022<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

March – SISE region club donations\/funding sent to SI Clubs in Ukraine and Moldova<\/span><\/strong> to enable local action<\/span><\/p>\n

April and June – Foodbank Donations of Easter Eggs and Children’s Sun Cream<\/span><\/strong> to support Walton & Hersham foodbank needs<\/span><\/p>\n

May – Booth at Oatlands Weybridge Village<\/span><\/strong> Fair for publicity and to sell beautiful craft items made in Maripela, South Africa who are supported by Soroptimists &\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Tea & Temptations Fashion Show<\/strong> run in partnership with local boutiques and SI Woking, raised funding for Barbara Watts Volunteering in Pretoria Project<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

July – Pink TUK TUK \u2018Dorothy\u2019<\/span><\/strong> purchased through the Rosie May Foundation (in our friendship region Sri Lanka) completing a 4yr project, Dorothy is now in full operation in Columbo enabling women’s prosperity and girls safety. A true legacy to a great Soroptimist Dorothy Clark MBE.<\/span><\/p>\n

August – Jubilee Club Tea in Weybridge for the Platinum year raised significant funds to add to STEM PA Account<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

September – Regional Barbara Watts Project funding<\/strong> sent to support selected final year under privileged female school leavers into teaching by volunteer roles supported by local soroptimists in Pretoria south Africa<\/span><\/p>\n

October – Target Ovarian Cancer club members and friends did a sponsored walk<\/strong> during Gynaecological Cancer month October raising charity funds<\/span><\/p>\n

March and November – Leading community awareness with poster and walkabouts in Elmbridge ahead of and on UN #IWD 2022 International Women\u2019s Day<\/strong> and Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women<\/span><\/p>\n

November – Club Coffee Morning for Domestic Abuse Services<\/strong> & UN #Orangetheworld<\/strong> postering\/banners throughout towns raised over \u00a32100 for North Surrey Domestic Abuse<\/span><\/p>\n

December – 21 Festive Elf Hats donated to Walton & Hersham Foodbank<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

January – Presentation of Cheque to North Surrey DA Team<\/span><\/p>\n

February – Donation<\/strong><\/span> to a struggling SI Club to pay 50% of subscriptions for members in 2023\/24 Year<\/span><\/p>\n

March 2023 – 130 Easter Eggs donated to Walton & Hersham Foodbank<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

All year – individual SI members supporting refugees & asylum seekers and children<\/strong> in Surrey with Elmbridge CAN & Lobbying MPs<\/strong>, House of Lords, Local Councillors on women\u2019s issues in our communities and nationally. Donations of personal care items<\/strong> at club meetings to Foodbanks.<\/span><\/p>\n
