Soroptimists are thrilled to be partnering once again with a local secondary school for an exciting STEM Careers Forum<\/b>\u00a0in\u00a0January 2026<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 and\u00a0we need your help!<\/b><\/div>\n
We’re looking for\u00a08\u201310 enthusiastic women (and a few men)<\/b>\u00a0working in any area of STEM \u2013 whether you’re in engineering, tech, science, maths, healthcare, or a lesser-known field \u2013 to share your story and\u00a0inspire the next generation<\/b>.<\/div>\n
Who we need:<\/b>
\n\u2714\ufe0f Women under 35 especially encouraged
\n\u2714\ufe0f STEM professionals from both academic and vocational backgrounds (NVQs, apprenticeships, on-the-job training \u2013 all welcome!)
\n\u2714\ufe0f NHS staff and those in\u00a0non-medical<\/i>\u00a0healthcare roles \u2013 let\u2019s break the myth that STEM = medicine only
\n\u2714\ufe0f Local business professionals in science, tech, engineering, or digital roles<\/div>\n

What you\u2019ll do:<\/b>
\nAt the forum, you\u2019ll chat to Year 10 students (aged 14\u201315), share your journey into STEM, talk about what your job involves, the skills and qualifications needed, salary prospects, and more.<\/div>\n
Our Soroptimist team will organise relaxed\u00a0small-group Q&A sessions<\/b>, and teachers will be present throughout.<\/div>\n
We want to show students the\u00a0real diversity<\/b>\u00a0of STEM careers \u2013 especially girls who may not have considered the full range of options available.<\/div>\n
