\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a>A donation of \u00a350 was made by the club and together with donations from members, 120 men’s toiletry items were purchased. We continue to donate clothing and linens from our homes.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

COVID 19<\/h4>\n

COVID 19 has resulted in an increase in domestic violence and has also had a significant impact on homeless people.<\/p>\n

Members and friends of SI Widnes are continuing to support both Changing Lives, our local women\u2019s refuge and NightStop, a charity which supports homeless people aged 16-35, by making regular donations of goods such as: nappies, wipes, children\u2019s toys, toiletries and cleaning products for Changing Lives and toiletries, toilet rolls, cleaning products and kitchen utensils\u00a0 for NightStop, to help equip two houses they have recently acquired to house homeless COVID 19 victims.<\/p>\n

In addition to the donated goods, many members have donated the cost of our monthly meals to enable the purchasing of some of the above items.<\/p>\n

A huge \u2018thank you\u2019 from staff at Changing Lives and NightStop to everyone who has donated in one form or another and a big \u2018thank you\u2019 to the two members who are purchasing, co-ordinating and delivering the items to NightStop and Changing Lives.<\/p>\n

2019\/2020<\/h4>\n

We have supported NightStop, a charity which supports homeless people aged between 16-35, for many years. Our main form of support is by donating overnight bags, which are reusable hessian bags, containing toiletries, underwear, a towel and a pair of pyjamas. The bags are given to young people who are placed in overnight emergency accommodation due to being made homeless for a variety of reasons. The young people have usually left home in a hurry and will have taken nothing with them. We hope the items in the overnight bags will help to make them a little bit more comfortable in what must be a traumatic experience.<\/p>\n
