[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Annual Young Achiever Award was established by Soroptimists International of Wigan in September 2013 to\u00a0recognise\u00a0and\u00a0celebrate the academic, sporting, artistic, charitable or service to the community achievements of girls and young women aged 14- 21 years in the Wigan area.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Each year nominations are sought either via the website or by post from teachers, guide leaders, family members and others\u00a0for girls that have excelled in the relevant areas. The successful girl receives an engraved plaque and gift token which is presented by the Mayor of Wigan and the President of SI Wigan at the Town Hall. In addition she receives the recognition of the community for the effort and commitment that she has shown.<\/p>\n

Young Achiever 2017<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”1117″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]The\u00a0Award for Young Achiever 2017<\/a>\u00a0was presented to Olivia Barrow for outstanding service to the community, and academic achievement.\u00a0Click link above for further details<\/strong><\/p>\n

Young Achiever 2016<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”938″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]The\u00a0Award for Young Achiever 2016<\/a>\u00a0was given to Jen Myler for excellence in sport. She plays football for Everton Ladies and works hard to promote sport and healthy living in the community.<\/p>\n

Young Achiever 2015<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”789″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]The\u00a0Award for Young Achiever 2015<\/a>\u00a0was given to Jessica who overcame obstacles to achieved her dream of working with animals by studying to become a veterinary nurse.<\/p>\n

Young Achiever 2014<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”597″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]The award for\u00a0Young Achiever\u00a02014<\/a>\u00a0was given to Georgina\u00a0Morris\u00a0at the Town Hall by the Deputy Mayor Cllr Susan Loudon on December 5th.She has achieved academic success, contributed greatly to Winstanley College life and was a well deserved winner of the award..<\/p>\n

Young Achiever 2013<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Young Achiever for 2013 was Jenny Baldwin a pupil of Rose Bridge High School who achieved outstanding exam results for her GCSE\u2019s and broke her schools record for academic achievement.She was given her award by the Mayor Councillor Billy Rotherham and SI WIgan President Cynthia Horrocks.<\/p>\n

Young Achiever 2012<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”302″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]The first Young Achievement Award was given to Hannah Ward who has had a long commitment to the children\u2019s charity Butterflies and also has a caring role within her family.
