{"id":1209,"date":"2018-07-30T15:44:45","date_gmt":"2018-07-30T15:44:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/wigan\/?p=1209"},"modified":"2018-07-30T15:44:45","modified_gmt":"2018-07-30T15:44:45","slug":"two-events-to-raise-awareness-and-support-the-national-osteoporosis-society","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/wigan\/2018\/07\/30\/two-events-to-raise-awareness-and-support-the-national-osteoporosis-society\/","title":{"rendered":"Two events to raise awareness and support the National Osteoporosis Society"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Soroptimist International Wigan and Soroptimist International Leigh both support the Ashton Leigh and Wigan Osteoporosis Support Group having previously raised funds for the National Osteoporosis Society.The aim is to raise awareness and help prevent osteoporosis and support people with the condition.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1210\" src=\"\/wigan\/files\/2018\/07\/Leigh-stand-June-23rd-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 On June 23rd 2018 SI Leigh had a Womens Zone event in the square outside Leigh Town Hall. The Osteoporosis stand was manned by members of SI Wigan and SI Leigh.\u00a0 It was well attended and raised awareness of the Support Group and the National Osteoporosis Society.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1211\" src=\"\/wigan\/files\/2018\/07\/nos-Elaine-July-5th-2018-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1212\" src=\"\/wigan\/files\/2018\/07\/NOS-Penny-DW-JULY-5th-2018-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>On July 5th the local Osteoprosis Support Group had a stand at the Greater Manchester Festival Of Ageing at the DW Football Stadium, manned by members of SI Wigan.
