Kate who is 90 was Wigan&#8217;s first female surgeon and\u00a0 was at one time one of only six in the country, she was awarded her star as part of the towns International Women&#8217;s Day celebrations. She was surrounded by friends, members of SI Wigan and other South Lancashire Soroptimist International Clubs.
