{"id":3730,"date":"2019-03-23T18:07:39","date_gmt":"2019-03-23T17:07:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/?p=3730"},"modified":"2019-03-23T18:37:06","modified_gmt":"2019-03-23T17:37:06","slug":"alresford-allsorts-donation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/2019\/03\/23\/alresford-allsorts-donation\/","title":{"rendered":"Alresford Allsorts donation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Soroptimist International of Winchester were delighted to receive notification of a donation from local motoring club Alresford Allsorts.<\/p>\n<p>The sum of \u00a3350 was presented by Gordon Cooper to Julie Blackwell of SIW at Bramdean village hall, which gave the opportunity for some of the Allsorts members and vehicles to be present.<\/p>\n<p>SI Winchester supports local charities including Trinity House in Winchester and the Women\u2019s Refuge as well as international and overseas charities which the SI organisation supports.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2019\/03\/Gordon-Cooper-with-members-of-Alresford-Allsorts-and-Julie-Blackwell-of-Soroptimist-International-Winchester.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3731\" src=\"\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2019\/03\/Gordon-Cooper-with-members-of-Alresford-Allsorts-and-Julie-Blackwell-of-Soroptimist-International-Winchester-300x207.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"207\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2019\/03\/Gordon-Cooper-with-members-of-Alresford-Allsorts-and-Julie-Blackwell-of-Soroptimist-International-Winchester-300x207.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2019\/03\/Gordon-Cooper-with-members-of-Alresford-Allsorts-and-Julie-Blackwell-of-Soroptimist-International-Winchester-768x529.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2019\/03\/Gordon-Cooper-with-members-of-Alresford-Allsorts-and-Julie-Blackwell-of-Soroptimist-International-Winchester-1024x706.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2019\/03\/Gordon-Cooper-with-members-of-Alresford-Allsorts-and-Julie-Blackwell-of-Soroptimist-International-Winchester.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Julie Blackwell said, \u2018The Allsorts have requested the donation to be sent to the Women\u2019s Refuge in Winchester and as our club already supports this along with Trinity House, the day centre for domestic abuse victims, this is a generous gift from their members and will doubtless be much appreciated.<\/p>\n<p>The Allsorts were looking to support the Refuge so this is a perfect match. The motoring club has been in existence for over 30 years and has a membership of over 50 with a range of vintage and classic vehicles. It raises money for local charities and SI Winchester is happy to facilitate this for the Refuge.
