The<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2023\/04\/SI-bench.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5626 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2023\/04\/SI-bench.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"260\" height=\"173\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2023\/04\/SI-bench.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2023\/04\/SI-bench-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 260px) 100vw, 260px\" \/><\/a> hospice has been in the process of developing an outdoor garden space with a room for families and relatives to reflect and enjoy time with their loved ones. Following on from the Chelsea Flower Show in 2021, the Bible Society rebuilt their garden in the grounds of the Hospice. The area has a lovely outdoor room and patio both in sunshine and shade for residents.<\/p>\n<p>Jo and Julie from Winchester club visited to dedicate the bench with a plaque and were<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2023\/04\/SI-Julie-Jo-Simon.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5628 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2023\/04\/SI-Julie-Jo-Simon.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"260\" height=\"173\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2023\/04\/SI-Julie-Jo-Simon.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2023\/04\/SI-Julie-Jo-Simon-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 260px) 100vw, 260px\" \/><\/a>delighted to meet the team who were so enthusiastic and confirmed the bench was put to good use. They were delighted to see the water feature in full flow and the Soroptimist roses doing well which had been donated by the club last summer.<\/p>\n<p>Donna Coombs, clinical matron at Winchester Hospice, says: \u201cWe are so grateful to have been gifted such a beautiful bench for our patients, visitors and staff to use whilst enjoying moments of peace and calm in our outdoor space.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur garden is an invaluable area in our hospice grounds and we feel really privileged to have Soroptimist International of Winchester helping us to make it as wonderful as it can be for all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2023\/04\/SI-Jo-Julie-Donna-Maddy.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5627 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2023\/04\/SI-Jo-Julie-Donna-Maddy.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"260\" height=\"173\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2023\/04\/SI-Jo-Julie-Donna-Maddy.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2023\/04\/SI-Jo-Julie-Donna-Maddy-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 260px) 100vw, 260px\" \/><\/a>Winchester Hospice is the only adult hospice in Winchester and since opening its doors in September 2021 has cared for nearly 600 patients.
