The event was one of many which we hold to support our different charities. 35 people took <a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2023\/10\/Quizmasters.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5799 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2023\/10\/Quizmasters.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"186\" height=\"140\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2023\/10\/Quizmasters.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2023\/10\/Quizmasters-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 186px) 100vw, 186px\" \/><\/a>\u00a0part and the quiz was superbly run by members Ellie and Helen.<\/p>\n<p>A cash bar and raffle were also held which proved popular. As we support the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unit-12.org\/\">Winnall Community Pantry<\/a>, guests were invited to bring donations for distribution after the event. Starting off with individual solar lamps, which are supplied to low income families in sub Saharan Africa at a nominal cost, the plan is to develop the lights to illuminate whole villages and communities. This<a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2023\/10\/Solar-Aid-at-St-Swithuns.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5804 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2023\/10\/Solar-Aid-at-St-Swithuns.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"259\" height=\"126\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2023\/10\/Solar-Aid-at-St-Swithuns.jpg 642w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/winchester-and-district\/files\/2023\/10\/Solar-Aid-at-St-Swithuns-300x146.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 259px) 100vw, 259px\" \/><\/a> enables them to continue work\/study and provide medical services where electricity is difficult to install. As Solar Aid states, \u2018Together, we can make sure that no home, no school, no clinic in Africa is left in the dark by 2030\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the event the funds raised were \u00a3400 for the charity. Julie Blackwell, treasurer said, \u2018People\u2019s generosity knows no bounds, especially when enjoying a community event together.
