Soroptimists have a strong focus on giving women the abilities and power to improve their lives.  So the Soroptimist International Programme of Action concentrates on 6 areas:

     Economic and Social Development; Education;

     Environment; Health;

     Human Rights and the Status of Women;

     International Goodwill and Understanding.

The projects we support may include more than one of these areas.  Our goals are always to work towards enabling women and girls to have better lives by:

    Enjoying equity and equality,

     Living in safe and healthy environments,

      Having access to education

      Developing leadership and practical skills.

Woking Soroptimists help a range of initiatives from the local to the international.  We may provide practical help – such as being a trustee, a school governor or helping students to practise for work interviews or we may raise awareness about an organisation or a cause or put on events to raise funds.
