Soroptimists have a strong focus on giving women the abilities and power to improve their lives.  So the Soroptimist International Programme of Action concentrates on 6 areas:     Economic and Social Development; Education;      Environment; Health;      Human Rights and the Status of Women;  International Goodwill and Understanding.

Our goals are always to work towards enabling women and girls to have better lives by:  Enjoying equity and equality, Living in safe and healthy environments,  Having access to education,  Developing leadership and practical skills.

Woking Soroptimists support a range of initiatives.  We may provide practical help – such as being a trustee, a school governor or helping students to practise for work interviews or we may raise awareness about an organisation or a cause or put on events to raise funds.

To carry out this work, we have established the following project groups: Lobbying; Violence against Women; Climate Action; Modern Slavery.
