{"id":4620,"date":"2020-06-03T13:07:16","date_gmt":"2020-06-03T13:07:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/woking-and-district\/?p=4620"},"modified":"2020-06-19T08:33:26","modified_gmt":"2020-06-19T08:33:26","slug":"healthwatch-surrey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/woking-and-district\/2020\/06\/03\/healthwatch-surrey\/","title":{"rendered":"Healthwatch Surrey"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/woking-and-district\/files\/2020\/06\/COVID-19-Experiences-Flyer.pdf\">COVID-19 Experiences Flyer<\/a>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p>We were very pleased to welcome Zoe Harris, Volunteer Officer with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.healthwatchsurrey.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Healthwatch Surrey<\/a>, to our June &#8216;Dinner without Dinner&#8217; meeting by videoconference.\u00a0 She was our very first speaker to present to the Club in this way.\u00a0 Zoe made it very easy for us to cope with this new environment and we learned a lot about her organisation.<\/p>\n<p>Healthwatch Surrey is an important, but little-known, element of the health and care spectrum.\u00a0 It is in fact an independent, not-for-profit organisation and channels to the public health authorities the views and experiences reported by local people about the health and care services.\u00a0 The aim is to achieve positive changes in the system.\u00a0 It is a statutory requirement that every local authority should establish and fund a Healthwatch.<\/p>\n<p>Volunteers from Healthwatch Surrey visit organisations and individuals to gain information.\u00a0 There is a helpdesk to provide info about local services and how to access them.
