Love Parks Week, 12-18 July 2020<\/h3>\n

This is a great time to visit your local park, but not forgetting the social distancing that is so important now.\u00a0 Woking Park is close to the centre and easy to pop into before or after shopping.\u00a0 It’s nice to take a turn after visiting the swimming pool or the Leisure Centre.<\/p>\n

Soroptimist Bench<\/h3>\n

When you go, look out for the Soroptimist Bench.\u00a0 We gave the bench to Woking Park to celebrate our Pearl Anniversary in 2006.\u00a0 It’s in a peaceful spot overlooking the open space of the lawn – really good for a quiet moment of meditation before you go back to work.\u00a0 Really good for one’s mental health.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”4766″][vc_column_text]Our photo shows Jackie Theobald, Rozanne Rose and Anne Ansell in Woking Park.\u00a0 It was taken during the presentation ceremony.<\/p>\n

Trees please!<\/h3>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”4758″][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]We must never forget how important trees are for our well-being.<\/p>\n

Our national federation, SIGBI, has launched a new campaign.\u00a0 We will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Soroptimist International in 2021 and Soroptimists across the country will be planting trees.<\/p>\n

Woking Soroptimists have already planted a tree in Woking.\u00a0 When Woking Centre was redeveloped some years ago, we got together with Woking Lions and sponsored a tree.\u00a0 You can see it now near the Woking Square\u00a0 in Jubilee Square.\u00a0 We are so pleased to see it flourishing and growing tall.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”4759″][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
