Happy New Year!<\/h1>\n

We begin a New Year whilst continuing our 2023-24 programme of activities and awareness-raising.<\/p>\n

Look our for details of the fund-raising event we will hold on 6 July 2024 – the return of a favourite event ‘Tea & Temptations’.<\/p>\n

Violence against Women<\/h1>\n

New year – but not a new problem: violence against women and girls.\u00a0 Listen to this BBC episode of Fixing Britain to learn more about current initiatives and what can be done to tackle this ongoing issue: Fixing Britain<\/a><\/p>\n

Barbara Watts VIP project<\/h1>\n

We raised \u00a3210.00 for the Barbara Watts VIP project<\/a> in December 2023.\u00a0 We held a small raffle at the Christmas Dinner and added donations instead of exchanging Christmas cards.<\/p>\n

Hamlin Fistula Hospital<\/h1>\n

We are close to beating our new target of knitting 20 blankets for the Hamlin Fistula Hospital in Ethiopia!<\/p>\n

Blankets, like this one made by SI Woking member Fiona, are always needed for the women of all ages who come to the hospital for care and repair.\u00a0 More about Hamlin Fistula UK here<\/a><\/p>\n

Tea & Temptations<\/h1>\n

We are pleased to say that we will hold the 2024 edition of Tea & Temptations on 6 July 2024.\u00a0 \u00a0The event is organised jointly with our sister Club SI Weybridge.\u00a0 Proceeds from the fashion show and afternoon tea will be donated to Soroptimist charities.<\/p>\n
