Celebrating Decades of Dedication at Our May Action Meeting<\/strong><\/p>\n

The May Action Meeting brought with it a truly joyful moment: celebrating the remarkable commitment of three of our longstanding members.<\/p>\n

Rozanne has contributed an incredible 30 years of service to Soroptimist work, Jennie an inspiring 35 years, and Audrey\u2014an outstanding 40 years of dedication!<\/p>\n

In recognition of her exceptional contributions, Audrey has been made an Honorary Member of SI Woking & District\u2014a fitting tribute to a legacy of service that continues to inspire us all.<\/p>\n

Inspiring Start to the Year with Sight for Surrey<\/strong><\/p>\n

We began the new Soroptimist year on an inspiring note with guest speaker Justine Jasper, Head of Charity Services at Sight for Surrey<\/em>. Justine delivered an engaging and informative talk about the wide range of Sensory Services the charity provides.<\/p>\n

From supporting individuals with visual or hearing impairments to empowering people to live independently and confidently, Sight for Surrey offers truly life-changing assistance. The scope and impact of their work are nothing short of remarkable\u2014a powerful reminder of how much difference the right support can make.<\/p>\n

MAY is National Walking Month<\/h2>\n

SI Woking marked May Walking Month with a stroll that combined fresh air, friendship\u2014and a focus on the environment.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Our walk took us through the Horsell Common Flood Relief area, a hidden gem just a stone\u2019s throw from the Basingstoke Canal. With peaceful paths and winding boardwalks, it offers a tranquil escape from the busy town centre.<\/p>\n

But this green space is more than just a pretty place to walk. It\u2019s also a vital part of local flood management. Three ponds store excess rainwater, protecting nearby homes from potential damage.<\/p>\n

After a very dry spell, the water level of the ponds was low – but heavy rainfall since then has shown how necessary they are.<\/p>\n

Domestic Abuse<\/h2>\n
