The guest speaker spoke eloquently about the many women who have helped her throughout life.\u00a0 And we were thrilled to applaud the 50 years service of Trefenna Mitchell!<\/p>\n<p>Now it&#8217;s our turn to host the September Regional Meeting.\u00a0 Preparations are under way. We are looking forward to welcoming our sister Soroptimists for a great day.<\/p>\n<h2>Women &#8211; and girls &#8211; at work<\/h2>\n<p>In both World War 1 and World War 2, women stepped up to the jobs men away fighting could not do. Here are just two examples of the work they did:\u00a0 during the first World War, women worked as acetylene welders to build planes.
