In March 2011 our local House of Fraser (Beatties) gave a Fashion show and Clarins gave a make up lesson.  There were outfits for day, night and special occasions in all sizes.  The photograph shows President Renee thanking the models for a most enjoyable evening.

Mrs Marjorie Wedge a member of Wolverhampton since 1962 was awarded the MBE in the New Years Honours List. During her time with us she has been our President and President of Midland Chase, responsible for the chartering of Staffordshire Midland Chase. Because of Marjorie’s efforts and beliefs,  Wolverhampton Council now have a dedicated department for the bereaved. Affording all the help and support needed at such a time.

Our President has long been a supporter of the ‘Wolverhampton Musical Comedy Company’ and decided to approach them with a view to organisinfg a concert in aid of Help for Heroes. It is a young and energetic company, who perform songs and dance from all the popular musicals, new and old. It was extremely well supported and a most enjoyable evening was had by all. Our target for the evening was exceeded thanks to all who came and in fact it was so successful it may well be repeated in the new year.

Ashley Charles James executive Chef of the Four Seasons Hotel, Los Angeles, has endorsed a new cookbook written by members of Wolverhampton Soroptimists. The cook book, entitled Stir Yourself into Action, is being sold to raise funds for a local charity. Recipes include, Roasted Monkfish in Proscuitto,  Coconut Pannacotta and Jamaican Gammon. A Tea Party was held at Wolverhampton Combined Courts in aid of Water Aid. Apart from the tea and cakes we were given a most interesting and informative tour of the building. We raised more money than we expected with more to come.
