Purple Teardrop Campaign

Wolverhampton Soroptimists

take the Purple Teardrop

Campaign to Town!

Working throughout the day with teams of 4 or 5, we asked people to sign a petition in support of banning ‘sex for sale’ advertising, which encourages and finds a market place for women, men and children who are exploited for sex and work. 370 signatures were achieved. With the petition going on to our families and work colleagues we expect to achieve at least 500, maybe more.

The Mayor of Wolverhampton Councillor Mrs Christine Mills and her Consort Mr Stuart Mills, very kindly came to give their support, as did Mr Pat McFadden MP, Wolverhampton South East, Ms Emma Reynolds MP, Wolverhampton North East and Mr Paul Uppal MP, Wolverhampton South West.
