President Lindsay’s Newsletter September 2022

Presidents News September 2022

Please remember to bring your Wrapped Book, and can you bring your pull up banners if you have one, to the RCM meeting. And also please send your articles to Liz Hayes for the Newsletter.

I hope you have all had a restful August and have come back to your meetings full of energy and enthusiasm. I am about to go on a Twinning Visit to Germany and am really looking forward to some time away.  Andy says he is having Beans for his tea!

I cannot believe that my year is nearly over, the time seems to have flown by.

I will give a full report at the AGM of where and what I have done over the year.

I still have some availability and would love to come to any of your meetings over the next couple of months, so please invite me.  I know I have managed to get to every club at least once, except for one.

I have been sent a few Sunflower pictures over the last month, have you got any to send me or a story about what you did with the seeds, as I would like to put it into my report.

Linda and Susie have been busy working with Airedale Travel who are the firm that are going to get us to Dublin next Summer. As soon as the full details are available, we will be writing out to you all to see if you want to come.  It should be a great Convention.

Also don’t forget to let Susie and Linda know if you are coming to Belfast conference and where you will be staying.  I am looking forward to handing the chains onto Jane and to her forthcoming year.

I have been working with a local company to produce some Royal Blue Yorkshire Soroptimist, Polo Shirts, Sweat Shirts and Fleeces and will send out some pictures, prices and ordering information when I get back from Germany. Hopefully to be ready for the RCM, or Belfast.

Thank you to those who have stepped forward with their nominations to join the executive, we still need a membership officer and Liz and Sue are hoping some of you will join a communications team. Info coming from them directly. Please have a think about it.

There has been a flurry of nominations at SIGBI as well, so don’t forget to vote at your clubs for all these positions.

If you becoming the new Region Rep from November please tell Judith, so we are writing to the correct members.  You are vital to the region as you are also members of the Yorkshire Executive.

Jane and I had a meeting this week and looked at all the ideas that came out of the June RCM.  We are going to send it out to you all to look at and we will continue to work through it, to come up with some plans for the Region. You also might like to use it locally or in your clusters to start the conversations on growth and development in your clubs.

That’s all for today as I have to finish packing and write a RCM and AGM report.

Always here to listen, take care

In friendship

Lindsay
