They have written letters of support to local councillors and MP\u2019s to support the much needed relocation of the centre to more suitable premises.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/yorkshire\/files\/2024\/09\/RCM-21st-September-2024-Bingley-Provision-support-for-refugees-asylum-seekers.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5904\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/yorkshire\/files\/2024\/09\/RCM-21st-September-2024-Bingley-Provision-support-for-refugees-asylum-seekers-300x270.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"218\" height=\"196\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/yorkshire\/files\/2024\/09\/RCM-21st-September-2024-Bingley-Provision-support-for-refugees-asylum-seekers-300x270.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/yorkshire\/files\/2024\/09\/RCM-21st-September-2024-Bingley-Provision-support-for-refugees-asylum-seekers.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 218px) 100vw, 218px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">SI Dewsbury and District &#8211; Mirfield Friendship Cafe<br \/>\nThis is an ongoing project that was started before Covid. The Friendship Cafe provides a space for people to create new friendships and meet up with old friends in a safe and pleasant atmosphere.\u00a0 There is no charge but there is a donation box, the money is used to replace the milk etc.. and the remainder is put towards the Christmas cafe.\u00a0 The cafe averages 20 to 25 people every month, some regulars but often new faces.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/yorkshire\/files\/2024\/09\/RCM-21st-September-2024-Dewsbury-Mirfield-Friendship-Cafe.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5905\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/yorkshire\/files\/2024\/09\/RCM-21st-September-2024-Dewsbury-Mirfield-Friendship-Cafe-225x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"178\" height=\"237\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/yorkshire\/files\/2024\/09\/RCM-21st-September-2024-Dewsbury-Mirfield-Friendship-Cafe-225x300.jpeg 225w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/yorkshire\/files\/2024\/09\/RCM-21st-September-2024-Dewsbury-Mirfield-Friendship-Cafe.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 178px) 100vw, 178px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">SI Hallamshire &#8211; Baby Basics Charity<br \/>\nThis is their 2nd\u00a0 year of supporting Baby Basics in Sheffield. The members have continued to knit baby clothes, sew cot sheets, make fabric bags from recycled fabrics usually curtains and bedding. \u00a0 They supported for a 2nd year new mothers and families who are struggling to meet the financial and practical burden of looking after a new baby. They provided essential equipment to mothers and families unable to provide this for themselves, including but not limited to teenage mums, people seeking asylum and women fleeing domestic abuse and trafficking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/yorkshire\/files\/2024\/09\/RCM-21st-September-2024-Hallamshire-Baby-basics-charity.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5906\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/yorkshire\/files\/2024\/09\/RCM-21st-September-2024-Hallamshire-Baby-basics-charity-225x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"190\" height=\"253\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/yorkshire\/files\/2024\/09\/RCM-21st-September-2024-Hallamshire-Baby-basics-charity-225x300.jpeg 225w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/yorkshire\/files\/2024\/09\/RCM-21st-September-2024-Hallamshire-Baby-basics-charity.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 190px) 100vw, 190px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">AND THE WINNER IS<br \/>\nSI Sheffield &#8211; Ongoing Social Action in Sheffield<br \/>\nBuilding on a past project &#8216;Healthy Hampers&#8217; which provided slow cookers, kitchen utensils, cool bags, recipe cards and food to womens refuges and to Winn Garden, an economically challenged and very diverse estate in Sheffield. \u00a0 They continue to support Winn Gardens, which houses many asylum seekers and women escaping domestic violence.\u00a0 They have continued to provide slow cookers to resident families, alongside recipe cards (developed by Sixth Form Girls as part of Share Our Skills Project.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/yorkshire\/files\/2024\/09\/RCM-21st-September-2024-Sheffield-Ongoing-Social-Action-in-Sheffield-winner-of-Programme-Action-Awards-2023-24-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5917\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/yorkshire\/files\/2024\/09\/RCM-21st-September-2024-Sheffield-Ongoing-Social-Action-in-Sheffield-winner-of-Programme-Action-Awards-2023-24-1-300x234.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"234\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/yorkshire\/files\/2024\/09\/RCM-21st-September-2024-Sheffield-Ongoing-Social-Action-in-Sheffield-winner-of-Programme-Action-Awards-2023-24-1-300x234.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/yorkshire\/files\/2024\/09\/RCM-21st-September-2024-Sheffield-Ongoing-Social-Action-in-Sheffield-winner-of-Programme-Action-Awards-2023-24-1.jpg 542w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There was also a President\u2019s award which was presented to the SIYAMS (Soroptimist International Yorkshire Against Modern Slavery) group for excellent regional Programme Action work.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/yorkshire\/files\/2024\/09\/RCM-21st-September-2024-SIYAMS.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5903\" src=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/yorkshire\/files\/2024\/09\/RCM-21st-September-2024-SIYAMS-225x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sigbi.org\/yorkshire\/files\/2024\/09\/RCM-21st-September-2024-SIYAMS-225x300.jpeg 225w, https:\/\/sigbi.org\/yorkshire\/files\/2024\/09\/RCM-21st-September-2024-SIYAMS.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Two clubs both received a Highly Commended Award:<\/p>\n<p>SI Richmond &amp;
