Current projects

Three of the projects were are currently involved with:

Women's Safety

A longstanding priority of our club has been the physical and emotional safety of women and girls. Through both advocacy and practical action, we work to raise awareness of the issues affecting their safety, provide safe spaces where women can seek refuge and thrive, develop initiatives that make their everyday environments safer, create opportunities for education and personal development, and empower women and girls to take greater control of their lives.

Listening Project

SITWD invented this tool and has used it on several occasions as a quick-fire way of eliciting people's views on particular issues. It has been deployed at community events, the railway station and fairs, giving us feedback on what matters most to women and girls locally.

Lend With Care

Lend With Care is a scheme which helps people in low-income countries work their way out of poverty by lending them money to start or develop a business. SITWD makes regular loans to female entrepreneurs, and a number of members undertook a fundraising challenge which required them each to walk 60 miles in a 4 week period
