Club Year 2026-2027
The Club had a really successful 69th year.
It will be the Club’s 70th anniversary on April 27th 2027, so we will start to mark this special birthday during the Club Year 2026-27.

We have face to face meetings in most months as well as a monthly online meeting. This provides opportunities for speakers and fundraising and has transformed Team and Planning meetings making them more accessible for many members. Please click on the Club Programme to see upcoming events and visit Club News on the website to see detail of future and past events.
Club Members are split into three teams around the Soroptimist International Programme Objectives to provide focus for the Club’s projects which Soroptimists call “Programme Action“. The three teams are Peace, People and Planet.
As well as Programme Action Teams, the Club has a “Planning Team”, which is how the Club’s Executive is now known because that is what it does in the main. To see who is on the Club Planning Team for the year click here https://sigbi.org/st-albans/planning-team The Planning Team are all in the lovely photo (for a change) with a few other members marking International Women’s Day 2023 with the theme “Embrace Equity”.
There is always so much we want to do, meeting as a Club, having some fun and working together on with projects which will benefit the charities we support in our local Community and internationally with Soroptimists worldwide.
Soroptimist International, the worldwide organisation of which we are a part, was founded to make a difference to Women and Girls worldwide. Our Club has teams working on projects and activities linked to 3 of the United Nations Sustainable Development areas –
People Team – projects covering learning opportunities/education and wellbeing/health
Planet Team – projects relating to sustainability and the environment
Peace Team – projects to end violence against women and provide support.
During the year Club Members across the three teams will continue to support the St Albans and Hertsmere Women’s Refuge, the Steve Sinnott Foundation Period Poverty Project and many other charities.
Our Club prides itself on being friendly and welcoming, so if you have come to this page as a non-Member we encourage you to join us at one of our meetings and find out what we are all about – we would love to see you – simply –
