Soroptimist International is a global volunteer movement of women working together to transform the lives of women and girls. Soroptimists inspire action and create opportunities through a global network of members and international partnerships. S.I. Newcastle upon Tyne was the first club to be chartered in Northern England in 1937!
Over the years we have supported a variety of charities and causes both locally and internationally. Always our aim is to improve the lives of women and girls.
Our members are from a range of backgrounds with a wealth of experience and skills. All members enjoy the fun and friendship that the club's activities and events offer .
We meet monthly on the second Tuesday of each month at The Falcon’s Nest, Gosforth Park. Rotary Way, Gosforth, Newcastle Upon Tyne NE3 5EH These ,meetings are hybrid meetings as those members who are unable to attend, join us via Zoom. In the winter months, all meetings take place over Zoom.

It's that time of year again and we are preparing to support local foodbanks and organisations with whom we work in partnership. Every year we provide 25 Christmas bags for the women who use the Joseph Cowan Healthcare Centre.
Fallowlees Farm is run by West End Women and Girls centre and over the years we have contributed to the farm’s development in terms of planting trees, obtaining a hive and some sheep for them. There is now a third generation of sheep! Our major contribution was the provision of the poly tunnel several years ago when a club member , Christine. raised£10, 000 by applying for funding from a national charity.
