We meet monthly on the second Tuesday of each month at The Falcon’s Nest, Gosforth Park. Rotary Way, Gosforth, Newcastle Upon Tyne NE3 5EH These ,meetings are hybrid meetings as those members who are unable to attend, join us via Zoom. In the winter months, all meetings take place over Zoom.

S.I.Newcastle upon Tyne was the first club to be chartered in Northern England In 2027 we will celebrate our 90th Anniversary. Over the years we have supported a variety of charities and causes both locally and internationally. Always our aim is to improve the lives of women and girls.
Fallowlees Farm is run by West End Women and Girls centre and over the years we have contributed to the farm’s development in terms of planting trees, obtaining a hive and some sheep for them. There is now a third generation of sheep! Our major contribution was the provision of the poly tunnel several years ago when a club member , Christine. raised£10, 000 by applying for funding from a national charity.
Over the last few years we have supported a school in the West End of Newcastle which was developing a forest school.. We provided waterproof materials and wellington boots for the children. There are 420 pupils across all school years, and all children spend periods in small groups in the forest school. Also on International Women’s Day we have held a writing competition inviting children to write stories about a woman that they find to be inspiring to them.
As in previous years, our activities are focussed on supporting the Joseph Cowen Healthcare Centre by providing Christmas bags for homeless women. We also support local food banks By donating funds, it allows the organisations to respond to the needs of their clients, more appropriately.
In collaboration with other clubs in the Northern Region, members have crocheted orange flowers to be given to MPs to be worn on November 25th at the start of the annual 16 days of action to stope violence against women, This project is ongoing,
