Soroptimist International - Cirencester and District

Soroptimist International of Cirencester and District is part of a worldwide organisation of women, which is linked to the United Nations

Welcome to SI Cirencester and District
Come and Join Us!

Soroptimist International was launched 100 years ago and is a worldwide organisation with links to the United Nations. Membership will give you an opportunity to support local, national and international projects benefitting women and girls; enjoying friendship and fun; lobbying, influencing and making a difference for women at home and abroad.

There are Soroptimist Clubs around the world: Soroptimist International ▶️

There are Soroptimist Clubs around the UK : Soroptimist International of Great Britain & Ireland ▶️

There are Soroptimist Clubs around the South West Region: Soroptimist International of South West & Channel Islands ▶️

We are committed to a world where women and girls can achieve their individual and collective potential, realize aspirations and have an equal voice in creating strong peaceful communities worldwide.  We work for change through direct involvement in local, national and international projects.

The Cirencester and District Club began in 1948 and we are now a thriving group of women of varying ages.  We are actively seeking new members to join us.  We need the enthusiasm and dynamism of younger women as well as the experience and wisdom of those who are older.  If transforming the lives of women and girls is important to you Contact us today to find out more and perhaps arrange an informal chat or attend a meeting.

We meet in the evening on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month; At the Royal Agricultural University for Dinner and once for a Business Meeting at The C-Hub in Cirencester.  See Club Diary

President 2021 - 2022Our President 2023-2024 is Jill Lang

Jill is also the current SIGBI Regional Programme Action Officer for the South West and the Channel Islands, working with all the 16 Clubs in SW& CI Region, and the national UKPAC team.

Her local Charity is Stroud Women’s Refuge, the only such place in Gloucestershire. Their work is even more necessary as domestic violence appears to be ever-increasing and we support Stopping Violence Against Women and Girls.

Her International charity of the year is the British Red Cross which is working at home and all over the world where people are in crisis from wars and disasters.

Jill is particularly looking forward to supporting the Modern Day Slavery Conference we are holding on 24th November in Cirencester.

Her thanks to all members for their friendship and engagement in our activities in line with our Soroptimist Values.
