Soroptimist International of Cirencester and District is part of a worldwide organisation of women, which is linked to the United Nations

Welcome to SI Cirencester and District
Come and Join Us!

Soroptimist International was launched 100 years ago and is a worldwide organisation with links to the United Nations. Membership will give you an opportunity to support local, national and international projects benefitting women and girls; enjoying friendship and fun; lobbying, influencing and making a difference for women at home and abroad..

We are committed to a world where women and girls can achieve their individual and collective potential, realize aspirations and have an equal voice in creating strong peaceful communities worldwide.  We work for change through direct involvement in local, national and international projects.

The Cirencester and District Club began in 1948 and we are now a thriving group of women of varying ages.  We are actively seeking new members to join us.  We need the enthusiasm and dynamism of younger women as well as the experience and wisdom of those who are older.  If transforming the lives of women and girls is important to you Contact us today to find out more and perhaps arrange an informal chat or attend a meeting.

We meet twice a month, once at the Royal Agricultural University for Dinner and once for a Business Meeting at The C-Hub in Cirencester.

President 2021 - 2022

Jill Lang

Hello, I am Jill Lang, the Cirencester and District President for 2022 – 2023. I am also the current SIGBI Regional Programme Action Officer for the South West and Channel Islands.

My local charity is GARAS – Gloucestershire Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers whose work is ever increasing and more necessary.

My International charity of the year is the British Red Cross which is working at home and all over the world where people are in crisis from wars and disasters.

Highlighting those in need, especially women and girls, enables us to support a range of local, national, international charities and organisations. Our fundraising is part of how we can support them.

Soroptimists are very fond of alliteration from ‘Educate, Empower and Enable’ to ‘Friendship, Food and Fun’. We aim to enjoy ourselves as well as helping others.
