Summer fun with friends from Germany and Holland
In sunny and hot weather our friends from SI Remscheid and SI Arnhem Oost arrived in Kenilworth. After having time to settle in, they were welcomed to a garden party and the Links team pulled out all the stops to give us all an evening to remember.
On Saturday the visit continued at Compton Verney Art Gallery and Park and then into the evening with a truly cultural occasion – a fish and chip supper with mushy peas and a beetle drive. The evening was topped off with a song sung by and written by our friends, celebrating friendship. The message was heartfelt and we loved it.
On Sunday the weekend wound up with an afternoon in the walled garden at Stoneleigh Abbey as guests at the Summer Serenade, a concert organised by Stoneleigh Male Voice Choir. As the afternoon went on, our friends had to say goodbye to catch ferries and planes to return to their homes.
What a lovely event this has been. Such good company and exemplary planning and execution by the Friendship Links Team. Thank you to our friends for travelling to meet us and thank you to everyone for making it such a pleasure
