Angie Gavin spoke to us with great enthusiasm about her work with women in the Rugby area. The Walk with Us project serves several purposes. Women are able to identify areas where they don't like to walk, and then they are accompanied by the group, lead by Angie, with the aim of seeing how things can be imporved – a request to the council for better lighting maybe. But as well as this, the group is giving some women who might otherwise feel isolated, social connections in their area and a chance to make new friends. There is also the valuable chance for them to meet members of the Police Force in an unthreatening and friendly environment.
