Current projects

At SI Nottingham, we put our mission into action through local community service, international partnerships, and targeted fundraising campaigns. Here is a look at what we are working on right now: Nottingham Women’s Centre We work hand-in-hand with the Nottingham Women’s Centre to deliver vital programmes and facilities. “We cherish and value the relationship Nottingham Women’s Centre has with the Soroptimists. It is based on our shared values and working together to improve women’s lives by tackling injustice so they can lead safe, happy lives free from inequality, violence, and oppression.” — Nottingham Women’s Centre Women’s Refuges Support Our members regularly gather to assemble essential welcome and transition packs (filled with toiletries and daily necessities) for women staying in Nottingham’s refuges. We also donate Christmas gifts to three local refuges every holiday season. WeRHere Support We help maintain the garden for WeRHere, creating a tranquil, relaxing outdoor space for service users. Following an inspiring talk by CEO Hilary Brown on their vital work with vulnerable and traumatized families, our members hosted a lively accessory sale that raised £103.50 to directly support their programmes. Emmanuel House We actively collect and donate essential sanitary products to support homeless women currently staying at the Emmanuel House shelter.
