Welcome to Soroptimist International of Richmond and Dales
We are members of a lively and friendly club which is part of a global organisation committed to a world where women and girls together can achieve their individual and collective potential, realise aspirations and have an equal voice in creating strong and peaceful communities worldwide.
2017 is the club’s Jubilee year and special events have been organised almost every month. Instead of one President, it was decided to have ten! The Jubilee committee invited long standing members to be president for one month and each president will put her personal stamp on the month.
As individuals we come from a wide variety backgrounds with the common aim of advancing human rights and the status of women locally, nationally and internationally through service projects. For 60 years we have been striving to reach these goals and in doing so we have a great deal of enjoyment and friendship.
The membership of our club is very important to us and we always welcome new members. If you are interested in finding out more about what we do and how we do it you are most welcome to come along to one of our monthly meetings held on the third Thursday of every month at which we have speakers on a wide variety of topics. Have a look at this website to see our programme for the year, look at past and present events and meetings and get a flavour of our activities. You can contact us through this website.
Club Presidents: Shirley Thubron, Mary Lovell, Margaret Clayson, Sheila Harrisson, Judy Sheahan, Ann Potts, Sandra Baxter, Ann Morton, Susan Fenwick and Angela Edwards
