Welcome to Soroptimist International of Richmond and Dales

We are members of a lively and friendly club which is part of a global organisation committed to a world where women and girls together can achieve their individual and collective potential, realise aspirations and have an equal voice in creating strong and peaceful communities worldwide.

Sue Young and Judith Clark are delighted to share the role of President of Richmond and Dales Soroptimists for the current club year with a theme of ‘Making a Difference’ for women and girls.  They are both previous club Presidents and are looking forward to helping to strengthen the position of women and girls both here in Richmond and the Dales, in the UK and overseas.

Our chosen charities for the year are the Jonas Centre in Redmire which offers respite and reflection breaks for those suffering from the stresses of life as well as those just wanting to enjoy the beautiful Dales and the Fawcett Society which campaigns for gender equality and women’s rights at home, at work and in public life.   Planned events during the forthcoming year include a quiz, visit to the Jonas Centre and celebration of International Women’s Day next March.

We are a friendly club which meets on the third Thursday of the month at the Cricket Club in Richmond and welcome new members.  Come along to one of our meetings and see for yourself.
