Welcome to Soroptimist International of Richmond and Dales

We are members of a lively and friendly club which is part of a global organisation committed to a world where women and girls together can achieve their individual and collective potential, realise aspirations and have an equal voice in creating strong and peaceful communities worldwide.

After a hugely successful Jubilee Year, celebrating 60 years of Richmond & Dales, the new club year begins with a change of pace. Two members, Michele and Sue have been been elected to the post of President and will each take on the role as a job share – a modern term for a modern club.

Their theme, ‘Busy Women, Busy Lives‘ reflects the life of women in the 21st Century, including our members.

The continued aim of the club will be advancing human rights and supporting the status of women and girls, locally, nationally and internationally.

This year funds will be raised though a series of social events, principally for a local charity, The Rape and Sexual Violence Counselling Centre, as well as supporting Soroptimist International charities in Africa and India.

They look forward to a busy and interesting year, as well as welcoming new members to the club.

The membership of our club is very important to us and we always welcome new members. If you are interested in finding out more about what we do and how we do it you are most welcome to come along to one of our monthly meetings held on the third Thursday of every month at which we have speakers on a wide variety of topics. Have a look at this website to see our programme for the year, look at past and present events and meetings and get a flavour of our activities. You can contact us through this website.
