About our club

Giving service locally and internationally for over seventy years. The club was founded in September 1947, Chartered in March 1948.

A club by Women for Women, where everyone is heard

Although we are a small Club, we are active and committed to local and international volunteering work and events that raise funds for our projects.

We lobby and raise awareness of issues that help to improve the lives of women and girls locally and globally.

Club information

Who we are

We are a small and friendly club of around 15 members. We are women of different ages and backgrounds – but the one thing we have in common is that we want to make a difference to the lives of women and girls and at the same time enjoy each other’s company and have some fun.

When and where we meet

The club meets twice a month, once in Frodsham at Castle Park Arts Centre and once at the Golf Club in Runcorn. We have a programme of meetings and activities at which we plan and discuss our project work, we may listen to a speaker who introduces us to new ideas, we take part in discussions on issues that affect women and girls and generally enjoy being in the company of like – minded women.

Club programme

We have a varied programme of meetings and events, which includes an Annual Quiz night and BINGO night at Runcorn Golf Club. Regular monthly meetings at the Frodsham Arts Centre Castle Park Frodsham. Check out our Calendar of events.

Club History

Soroptimist International Runcorn and Frodsham was chartered on 17th March 1948. This is an image of our 1st Charter Dinner 78 years ago. To find out more about ‘Our History’ please click

Events & Fundraisers

By holding a variety of fundraising events we support our projects, and supports many Charities. Each year we hold a QUIZ in February and a BINGO night in October at Runcorn Golf club, both events are very popular.

Current projects

We work locally, nationally and internationally to educate, empower and provide enabling opportunities for women and girls. Mastectomy Comfort Cushions is our standout project – this fantastic project has supported women and helped them cope after breast cancer surgery.
